Plot
Sheryl Bradshaw, a single woman looking for a beau on the hit 1970s television series, chooses the charming bachelor Rodney Alcala, unaware that behind the man’s suave facade lies a deadly secret. The comment about Sheryl’s breasts is «literally taken from something that happened to me when I was 19.» At the end of the film, one of the narrations lists her name as Cheryl, which reveals what happened after the film.

I’ve always liked Anna Kendrick, I think she’s a good actress, but up until now she’s mostly been in comedies or dramas, so I was surprised to see her in a dark thriller based on a true story, not just the lead, and I was also surprised when I saw that Anna did a good job as a director. The film flows very well, the tension is constant, and the cast does a great job, from Kendrick to Daniel Zovatt, absolutely perfect as the crazy Rodney Alcala.
All in all, a very interesting movie that I recommend, one of the few really good movies on Netflix this year
Zovatto is perfect in the role of this psychopath, and the moments where he tries to impress women before killing them are truly chilling, also thanks to Kendrick’s solid and flawless lead, as mentioned. The final season of What We Do in the Shadows is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
