Plot
Agatha Harkness regains her freedom thanks to the help of a teenager under a spell. Intrigued by his pleas, she undertakes the witches’ trials to regain her powers and discover the teenager’s motives. Stars Kathryn Hahn, Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Debra Jo Rupp and Ali Ann, as well as showrunner Jac Schaeffer and executive producer Mary Livanos, share how they prepared for the Marvel series. The exterior scenes of Westview were filmed on Blondie Street at Warner Bros.
The set was previously used for Wandavision
Agatha lives in the house used in the television series Bewitched (1964). Quoted in WatchMojo: The 10 Most Shocking Revelations of Disney Plus Day (2021). I started Agatha All Along with no preconceived ideas or research into the backstory. It wasn’t until I was immersed in the story and watched episode 6 (?) that I realized it had a connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically WandaVision.
I felt cheated and irritated
Well, after getting engaged with Agatha All Along, I put things on hold and had to watch WandaVision. While «WandaVision» has some crucial elements as a backstory to «Agatha All Along,» it’s more tangential (and – in my opinion – a much worse series than «Agatha All Along»). Well, I finished E6 and then dived into E7-E9, and I really have to give the show credit. The acting is excellent throughout, with Hahn standing out as Agatha.
The sets have an original and unconventional perspective as the show progresses
Most notably, the trials the characters go through and their development are well done. The series has a compelling and adult storyline, without the usual sugarcoating where everyone is OK in the end. While I don’t think the connection to the MCU was necessary, it is what it is. And it doesn’t detract too much from the show as a whole.
